Reno, NV. – 9/1/24 – Joe Tierney announced that he has decided to resign from his position as head coach of the Damonte Ranch Mustangs effective July 24th.
Coach Tierney has been an integral part of the Damonte Ranch High School Baseball program since 2003. He was an assistant under former Head Coach Jon Polson since Damonte Ranch's inaugural season. Tierney was hired last season as the schools second head coach in program history and after a mix of injuries to his players and lack of star talent finished this season with a 7-23 record.
In a statement, Coach Tierney said, “It has been an honor to coach at Damonte Ranch High School. The decision to step down was not easy, but I believe it is time for me to pursue new opportunities and challenges. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together in this short time and grateful for the support of the school administration, my coaching staff, and, most importantly, the student-athletes. I look forward to seeing the continued success of the Mustangs in the years to come.”
